Description
The proposed research activity aims at the development of numerical models for the simulation of fracture in polymer nanocomposites undergoing large deformations, with particular focus on carbon nanotube-reinforced materials. The objective of the research is to understand the mechanisms governing fracture initiation andpropagation by establishing a link between the material microstructure and its macroscopic mechanical response.
