Development of miniaturized electronic platforms and radiating systems for nanosatellites and advanced satellite applications.
The project aims to research, design, build and experimentally validate modular electronic boards and compact antennas for small satellite platforms, with particular reference to CubeSats, nanosatellites and small satellites in LEO/VLEO orbit. The activities will focus on developing onboard electronic boards for control, power management, data acquisition, communication and interfacing with scientific or technological payloads; miniaturized and integrated antennas for radio links in VHF/UHF, S-band, X-band or other bands of interest; prototypes suitable for qualification through electrical, thermal, vibration and electromagnetic tests; and space oriented design methods, with attentionto robustness, redundancy, electromagnetic compatibility, power consumption, mass and volume. The topic is consistent with the current evolution of small satellites, now used for Earth observation, telecommunications, scientific experiments and complex demonstration missions.
