Development and characterization of innovative facilitated transport membranes for CO2 capture
The project aims to develop and characterize polymeric and composite membranes for gas separation, with a particular focus on CO2 capture and hydrogen purification. The study will be conducted through dedicated laboratory experiments on both materials (polymers combined with fillers or nanostructured coatings) and thin membranes. These experimental activities will be complemented by a modeling analysis based on fundamental approaches, including equations of state and transport models, which will also be applied to the investigation of the overall separation process. The objective is to enhance the permeability and selectivity of current membrane materials and to evaluate the impact of these improvements on the resulting separation performance.
