TRACES - Tracking the burden of past infectious diseases from Genetic, Archaeological, and Historical Resources (FIS-2024-04079)
The position involves research assistance activities within the framework of the TRACES project, aimed at investigating the genetic variability of past human populations through the application of laboratory methodologies and bioinformatic approaches specifically tailored to ancient DNA research. The activities will include the preparation of osteological samples, ancient DNA extraction, genomic library preparation, and the application of target enrichment strategies for the analysis of specific genomic regions of interest. The candidate will also be involved in subsequent data analysis steps, including quality control of sequencing data, assessment of ancient DNA preservation, and the application of dedicated bioinformatic pipelines for metagenomic analysis
