Description
The project aims to provide evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of recommendations aimed at mitigating the health effects of extreme heat events in vulnerable populations. The primary objective of the Living Lab, which will be conducted in Catania, will be to evaluate the impact of specific interventions aimed at reducing exposure to heat and air pollution on sleep quality and other health outcomes among pregnant women exposed to hot environments. A randomized clinical trial will be conducted with three groups in which pregnant women: a) receive no personalized alert notifications or personal recommendations; b) receive timely personalized alert notifications and recommendations via mobile phones and online tools; c) receive notifications and recommendations as in group (b) and use air purifiers.
