02/PHYS-03 - Experimental Physics Of Matter And Applications

Description

The research focuses on the interaction between high-power laser pulses and plasmas, with high-impact applications such as inertial confinement fusion, particle acceleration for nuclear medicine, and non-destructive techniques for materials characterization, including cultural heritage. The activities, carried out in collaboration with institutions such as the ELI Beamlines research center and in line with the objectives of the existing Framework Agreement between ELI ERIC and the University, combine theoretical and numerical analyses with experiments to optimize laser–plasma interaction and the use of the generated radiation, to study its transport and the irradiation of samples (including historical and artistic materials), and to develop diagnostic systems. In addition, dissemination of the obtained results is planned through participation in scientific conferences, as well as teaching activities within undergraduate and master’s degree programs"
