Title of the project:“Structural constraints for the seismotectonic evolution of orogenic areas: implications for the assessment of seismic hazard".The project focuses on a modern geological-structural approach to tectonic sectors characterised by seismic hazard. A multiscalar approach, from the analysis of the outcrop to characterisation at the regional scale, will be addressed to the understanding of key factors (such as fault mechanics and fluid circulation) leading to earthquake production in active tectonic areas. The geological-structural and seismotectonic characteristics of the Northern Apennines, in the sector between the Tyrrhenian margin and the Po Valley, will be analysed along structural cross-sections oriented perpendicular to the axis of the belt. High resolution parametrisation of the active and capable faults present there will be assessed for the detection of the seismic properties of the study area...Omissis.
