Scientific-Disciplinary Group

09/ICHI-02 - Chemical Plants And Technologies

Description

The research activity consists of carrying out experimental measurements (at the laboratory-scale, at the pilot-scale and at the industrial-scale) and simulation / mathematical modeling related to catalytic processes for energy and the environment. The experimental activity will consist of the synthesis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts, and the execution of catalytic activity tests. The simulation activity will be carried out using codes written in Fortran and C++; commercial software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, and Siemens gPROMS will be used.Collaboration in teaching activities and third-mission activities in the same field is also envisaged.Particular attention will be devoted to the topics of e-fuels, e-chemicals, bio-fuels and bio-chemicals, with a focus on heterogeneous catalysts, catalytic processes, and the chemical plants required for their synthesis.
