Effects of microgravity on in vitro cellular systems. Biochemical and molecular study of the interaction between cytoskeletal proteins and sirtuins
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
06/MEDS-02 - Experimental Medicine, Pathophysiology And Clinical Pathology
Description
It is required to individuate cell lines to grow and maintain under normogravity and microgravity conditions using the correct instruments to reproduce microgravity on ground. Such cellular systems will be utilized to perform experiments and treatments under microgravity in order to obtain biological specimens for cellular and molecular biology. The research will be conducted by measuring sirtuins activity using biochemical assays, acetylation of citoskelatal proteins, confocal microscopy and western blots. In addition, it is required to perform vitality assays, clonogenic studies on the cell lines as well as experiments using morphological analysis such as electron transmission microscopy (TEM)
