The research activity aims to develop and apply an advanced methodological framework for the critical reconstruction of archaeological research in the archaeological area of Venosa, based on the structural integration of advanced digitization processes, retrospective stratigraphic analysis and computational tools relying on Artificial Intelligence systems. The research requires a preliminary and essential phase of digitization, normalization and structuring of heterogeneous archival sources – including historical and administrative documentation, graphic and photographic materials, and excavation data – conceived not as a mere acquisition process, but as a scientific operation aimed at building coherent, searchable and semantically structured datasets. These datasets constitute the indispensable methodological prerequisite for the application of computational analysis tools and Artificial Intelligence systems to archaeological data. (...)
