Description

Title of the project:"Supplementary cementitious materials for sustainable low-carbon concrete: investigation of rehological behaviour and interactions with water". The research activity concerns the characterization and investigation of the properties of supplementary cementitious materials obtained from waste and by-products, including construction and demolition waste. The properties that will be investigated are mainly the rheological behavior with time and the interactions of blended cements with water (possible also in presence of chemical admixtures), aiming at manufacturing concrete of suitable workability. In the research, the following techniques will be used: NMR, methods for the measurement of fresh mixes’ rheology, characterization techniques for hardened properties (microstructure and mechanical performance) and further techniques useful to assess the significant characteristics.
