The activity related to the project“Characterization and monitoring of intestinal and ruminal microbiota: molecular andmetagenomic approaches for the evaluation of nutritional and probiotic interventions”concerns the study of the interactions between diet and microbiota in animal models ofzootechnical relevance, with the goal of generating knowledge to support thedevelopment of dietary and nutritional strategies that promote animal health andfunctionality. The gut and rumen microbiota represent complex microbial ecosystems thatplay a pivotal role in host physiology, nutrient utilization, and overall health. Modulatingthese communities through dietary interventions, nutraceuticals, or probioticsupplementation can significantly influence microbial composition and functionality.
