Description
The position seeks an expert in ethnomusicology or anthropology with a strong background in ethnographic methods, Caribbean music, and colonial histories. An excellent record of English academic publications is mandatory. Key Responsibilities: Fieldwork in Jamaica: Researching music scenes with a focus on the "tourism/disaster nexus," exploring impacts on infrastructure and economic mobility. Multimodal Ethnography: Conducting onsite and online research (including video archives) to analyze the evolving conditions of live music through the perspectives of local stakeholders. Academic Output: Producing at least one peer-reviewed article for a scientific journal. Collaboration: Coordinating international conferences and fostering professional relationships with Jamaican partners and stakeholders.
