Description

This research investigates the architecture and the built heritage of the Alps in the cross-border area through an integrated, participatory, and sustainable approach. The activity focuses on traditional mid- and high-altitude settlements and the revitalization of stone as a building material and a lasting element of territorial characterization and protection. The research includes documentation of pre-industrial materials and construction techniques, experimental co-design and self-construction activities through educational building sites, and third-mission and dissemination efforts that will characterize the project throughout its duration.
