Description

The activity investigates the form of the ground in the Verona–Mantua territory as the result of longterm historical stratification, integrating archaeological, cartographic, and design-based analyses. The research contributes to teaching activities through the transmission of methods for reading and interpreting territory and through the development of interpretative tools applicable to architectural design. Archival research, surveying activities, the representation of the ground are integrated into a reading of the territory as a palimpsest,in which past and present intertwine. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the research aims to restore the ground to its central role as a matrix of meaning and as a foundational framework for design. The third mission is pursued through the production of knowledge-based materials and interpretative maps supporting spatial planning. The activity fosters dialogue between scientific research, teaching and the conscious valorization of the territory
