Monitoring Long-term of clinical, virological, and immunological outcomes in COVID-19 patients: a multifaceted management
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
06/MEDS-10 - Gastrointestinal, Infectious And Skin Diseases
Description
Currently, most studies on COVID-19 have centered on acute illness, and limited data are available on long-term clinical, virological, and immunological outcomes in recovered COVID-19 patients. There is increasing evidence that some patients, even people not hospitalized nor displaying severe illness, may have symptoms that can last for weeks or even months after recovery from the acute illness - the so-called Long-COVID. This project aims to investigate the long-term clinical, neurological, psychological, serological, and immunological outcomes in a large cohort of patients who recovered COVID-19, followed up to 12 months after the acute phase. In particular, the primary end-point is to evaluate long-term clinical consequences, symptoms persistence, new morbidity, disability, hospitalization, and death after recovery from COVID-19
