Postdoctoral assignment - Group contests: Theory and experimental evidence
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
13/ECON-01 - Economics
Description
To develop models of contests between groups in a game-theoretical framework, in order to describe the response to incentives and the effects on economic outcomes, such as productivity of workers and competition across firms. The research program should relate the game-theoretical environment to the analysis of the role of inequalities (heterogeneity) within groups of agents in terms of relevant characteristics and to the role of beliefs of the subjects. Further extensions could address the implications of the models in terms to social mobility for a given starting socio-economic allocation. The theoretical findings and predictions may be tested in an experimental laboratory set up.
