Integrative analysis of the cellular identity of components of the neurosecretory brain-gut axis in sea urchin
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
05/BIOS-04 - Comparative Anatomy, Cell Biology And Developmental Biology
Description
The research program aims at studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating thedevelopment and function of neurosecretory systems involved in communication between the nervous system and the digestive system in the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus. Research willinclude the analysis of gene expression and the morphological and cellular organization ofneurosecretory celi types during development, using molecular, cellular, and developmentalbiology approaches, integrateci with advanced microscopy analyses. Laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques (genomic DNA extraction, RNAextraction, real-time qPCR, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry) and in the analysisand processing of gene expression data is required.
