This position is funded by the ERC Starting Grant REFINE2LASE, which aims to revolutionize nanocrystal (NC) science by developing universal refinement strategies to achieve monodisperse NCs. REFINE2LASE combines advanced nanocrystal synthesis, small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), droplet microfluidics, and optical characterization to build the next generation of optoelectronic devices, such as colloidal microlasers and other hierarchical devices. The postdoctoral researcher will:- Synthesize and characterize colloidal semiconductor, metallic, magnetic NCs.- Lead the experimental development of self-assembly strategies using in situ techniques, such as SAXS, and optical spectroscopy.- Fabricate NC-based microlasers using droplet microfluidics.- Perform advanced optical characterization of NCs and microlasers.
