Description
The postdoctoral research program aims to apply advanced genomics and bioinformatics tools to analyze large metagenomic libraries from the Pacific Ocean (including the Microbe Atlas, TARA Pacific, and Australian Omics Initiative projects). The goal of this program is to study the structure and connectivity of marine bacterial communities at large ocean scales and in relation to different environmental and climatic conditions. The results will contribute to predicting the effects of climate change on marine microbiomes, improving seafood safety monitoring strategies for public health, and supporting marine ecosystem conservation initiatives. The incumbent will also be expected to contribute to the sector's educational and third-mission activities
