The research project investigates forms of falsification and the dynamics of cultural memory construction surrounding the figure of Marco Polo.The research will examine:• the main types of falsification found in the Polian tradition;• cases of documentary, genealogical, narrative, and tourism‑related fabrication;• the mechanisms of circulation, reinterpretation, and persistence of such narratives.Activities include work on textual, documentary, and historiographical sources, with the aim of analysing the relationship between cultural memory and the formation of historical myth.
