Description
The research activity will focus on the study of the role of interoception and body representations in interpersonal motor and verbal interactions. The work will involve healthy participants, patients with Parkinson’s disease. Activities will include the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of psychophysiological measures related to gastric activity, and cardiac activity, using techniques such as electrogastrography, and electrocardiography. The research will also use non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, including transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial alternating current stimulation, to investigate the causal role of the interoceptive network in interoception, body representations, and interpersonal interaction
