09/IIND-03 - Industrial Design, Machine Construction And Metallurgy
Description
The research aims to functionally characterize materials for braking systems through dynamometer testing. To this end, a sub-scale brake dynamometer available at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DII) Mechanical Testing Laboratory, together with a pin-on-disc tribometer, will be employed. The experimental campaign will focus on low particulate matter (PM) emission friction materials. In particular, novel friction materials incorporating innovative and environmentally sustainable ingredients will be developed and evaluated through dynamometer testing.
