The research line aims to leverage the infrastructure of the PHYX Center (Phygital Hub for Entrepreneurship & eXperiential Learning) to address the development gap affecting Sicily’s inner areas, understood as geographically peripheral territories characterized by limited access to services, low population density, and slower socio-economic development.The Center’s target, already developed and tested for strengthening entrepreneurial education in order to promote the inclusion of socially disadvantaged groups, is therefore extended to include individuals and communities disadvantaged due to geographical factors, in accordance with the definition provided by the Italian National Strategy for Inner Areas (SNAI) and its regional implementations. This represents a distinct and complementary category of structural disadvantage alongside other forms of social exclusion.
