Sociolinguistic features and pragmatic strategies of disinformation
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
10/LIFI-01 - Italian Linguistics And Philology
Description
Within the FIS3 project FANDEMIA, this research post studies the sociolinguistic features and pragmatic strategies of disinformation in the Italian press. Drawing on a corpus of newspaper articles on immigration (2014–2024), distinguished between real and fake news, it analyses register variation, style and rhetorical devices through Discursive News Values Analysis and Key Semantic Domain Analysis. The aim is to identify the linguistic markers specific to disinformation and compare them with the repertoires of contemporary Italian, contributing to a debunking tool that integrates a philological linguistic approach with NLP and artificial intelligence.
