Description

This project aims to investigate the integrated contribution of TNTs and EVs to astrocyte—neuron and microglia—neuron communication during tau pathology propagation. The study will examine how tau-induced cellular stress modulates TNT formation, the directionality of tan aggregate transfer, and the exchange of mitochondria between cells, distinguishing pathogenic spreading mechanisms from neuroprotective responses. The ultimate goal is to identify whether these communication pathways can be selectively targeted to limit pathological tau dissemination while preserving beneficial glial-mediated neuronal support
