Description
Generational renewal in agriculture is a crucial challenge for the future sustainability of the sector, as highlighted by the recent European Strategy on generational renewal (European Commission, 2025). Scientific debate has largely focused on structural barriers and individual incentives, while paying less attention to the socio-organizational processes through which renewal actually takes shape. Through a qualitative and participatory research design, based on semi-structured interviews and focus groups, the project aims to advance conceptually by integrating insights from relational sociology and rural transition studies. The objective is to develop a theoretical-methodological framework that contributes to advancing the literature on generational renewal in agriculture.
