Description
The position entails the study of the Latin and Neo-Latin “translation traditions” of Petrarch’s Rerum Vulgarium Fragmenta, building upon the Comiati-Hintzen-Winkler catalogue (2022), with particular attention to the contacts among Latin, Neo-Latin, Italophone, and Francophone cultural spheres. The activities will include: the construction of a research corpus; the textual and socio-historical analysis of translation strategies and “translation imaginaries”; and the production of scholarly outputs and materials for the project’s digital platform.
