Preparation and Characterization of Colloidal Microlasers and Related Photonic Devices based on Monodisperse Quantum Dots
This position is funded by the ERC Starting Grant REFINE2LASE, which aims to revolutionizenanocrystal (NC) science by developing universal refinement strategies to produce monodispersenanocrystals. REFINE2LASE combines advanced nanocrystal synthesis, small-angle X-ray scattering(SAXS), droplet microfluidics, and optical characterization to enable the next generation ofoptoelectronic devices, with a particular focus on colloidal microlasers and other hierarchicalnanostructured devices.The postdoctoral researcher will:- Assemble superstructures of colloidal semiconductor, metallic, and magnetic nanocrystals.- Characterize these structures using optical spectroscopy techniques, with particular emphasis on laser emission measurements.- Integrate optical characterization techniques into a SAXS setup to enable simultaneous optical and SAXS measurements.
