The research will begin with an initial phase (approximately six months) devoted almost exclusively to field data collection within a study area designated by the Principal Investigator. In parallel with the fieldwork, a geodatabase containing the collected information and a 1:10,000-scale geological map will be produced in accordance with the current CARG standards.Subsequently, the surface data will be integrated with subsurface datasets (Airborne Electromagnetic surveys (AEM), reflection seismic data, wells, and boreholes) to develop a consistent geological model of the study area and the surrounding sectors. The analyses and reconstructions will focus on investigating recent to active tectonic activity and reconstructing paleotopography to support the protection and/or sustainable management of groundwater aquifers.
