The research activities are aimed at producing—in accordance with the CARG standards set out in the *Guidelines for the Production of the Geological and Geothematic Map of Italy at 1:50,000 Scale* (published in Series III of the Geological Survey of Italy’s *Quaderni* and subsequent amendments and additions)—the 1:25,000-scale hydrogeological map sheet no. 464 "Isola d’Ischia." The work also entails creating the associated database and preparing the official map sheet and final print files for publication, following the review and evaluation of proposed amendments and additions to the guidelines governing the cartographic representation of CARG hydrogeological symbols. The post-doc appointee is also required to assist with educational support activities and "third mission" (public engagement/knowledge transfer) activities.
