Precision Viticulture for the Sustainable Production of Catarratto Using Proximal Sensors, UAV Surveys, and Prescription Maps

The research focuses on the application of precision viticulture technologies for the monitoring and sustainable management of the Catarratto grapevine variety. The activities will involve the integrated use of proximal sensors, including Dualex, a spectroradiometer and a thermal camera, together with remote sensing systems based on UAVs equipped with multispectral and thermal cameras. The acquired data will be used to assess the vegetative, productive and physiological status of the crop, identify spatial variability within the vineyard, and develop thematic and prescription maps to support site-specific management of agronomic inputs. The overall aim is to improve sustainability, production efficiency and grape quality in Catarratto vineyards.
