Support for research activities in the field of the rhizosphere, with a focus on soil–plant–microorganism interactions under abiotic stress conditions.
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
07/AGRI-06 - Agricultural And Forest Genetics, Chemistry And Pedology
Description
The Technologist will provide support for research activities aimed at investigating the mechanisms underlying rhizosphere dynamics, with particular attention to the interaction between microorganisms, plants, and soil. The activity will be carried out under controlled conditions, such as growth and climate chambers, as well as in the field, and will include experimental planning and the sampling of soil, rhizosphere soil, and plants. The activities will include, in particular, physico-chemical soil analyses, as well as the extraction of DNA/RNA from soil or plant samples and subsequent bioinformatic analysis. Where appropriate, omics analyses, such as metabolomics, metagenomics, and metatranscriptomics, will be integrated to deepen the understanding of the physiological and biochemical processes involved.
