Description
The Technologist will work to promote innovation in local agriculture in the districts of Mwanza, Chikwawa, and Thyolo in southern Malawi. He or she will be responsible for identifying and testing in the field innovative techniques using the "demo site" model with integrated agroecological production using soil and water conservation systems (water harvesting) and the subsequent valorization of the local produce supply chain in Malawi. He or she will conduct analyses of the scale-up and diversification potential of irrigation techniques and high-nutrient cash crops, assessing water availability, soil suitability, and climatic conditions in the trial areas. He or she will be responsible for collecting field data and processing it to identify the most suitable techniques for the local context in terms of climate, soil type, and water availability
