Arabic Language and Literature

the successful candidate’s research will be expected to focus on the study of the Arabic language and literature, with particular attention to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and its dialectal variants in the Middle Eastern area, as well as to contemporary committed poetry. The research activities will be carried out through the analysis of original texts in Modern Standard Arabic and in Middle Eastern dialectal varieties, with a specific focus on oral dialectal poetry from the Middle East. The project is situated within an interdisciplinary framework between linguistic and literary studies and, at the same time, the research will adopt a cultural, historical, philological, and linguistic perspective, maintaining a strong openness to interdisciplinary and comparative approaches;
