Socio-economic processes and dynamics on higher-order networks

The project, developed within the framework of the FIS program (lines 2.2 “Higher-order spreading” and 2.3 “Higher-order evolutionary processes”), aims to develop theoretical and computational models for the study of dynamical processes on networks with higher-order interactions. By employing hypergraphs, it overcomes the binary limitations of traditional graph-based approaches, enabling the representation of complex collective interactions in social and economic systems. The research focuses on two main areas: (i) social dynamics and information diffusion, with particular attention to polarization, echo chambers, and discontinuous transitions; and (ii) evolutionary and economic processes, investigating cooperation, production networks, supply chains, and industrial coalitions through multilevel evolutionary game theory. Expected outputs include theoretical models, numerical simulation tools, peer-reviewed scientific publications, and presentations at international conferences.
