Comparative evaluation procedure for n. 1 research contract - Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences

Title of the project:“Histological and morphological analysis of ancient skeletal remains using advanced microscopy techniques”. The research activity will focus on the histological, morphological, and microscopic analysis of bone and dental samples from funerary contexts in the Hyblaean area, dating from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. The finds will be embedded and examined by means of histological microscopy, standard confocal microscopy, and two-photon microscopy, in order to identify differences in bone tissue architecture, osteocyte network organization, and skeletal development processes. Particular attention will also be devoted to characterizing the collagen structure of the remains in relation to the environmental conditions of burial..Omissis.
