Advanced Design and Characterization of Single-Atom Catalysts for Structural and Operando Investigation under Reaction Conditions - 2026_CDR_DCMC_4
The research program focuses on the development and advanced characterization of single-atom catalysts (SACs) through innovative structural and spectroscopic techniques, with particular emphasis on operando and in situ investigations under realistic reaction conditions. The activity will address the understanding of structure–activity–stability relationships of isolated atomic sites supported on functional materials through the integrated use of advanced electron microscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), diffraction methods, vibrational spectroscopies, and multimodal approaches with high temporal and spatial resolution. The project aims to elucidate catalytic activation and transformation mechanisms occurring during chemical and energy conversion processes, contributing to the development of high-performance materials for sustainable catalysis, energy production, and industrial decarbonization.
