Trees are complex living “structures” that are exposed to increasingly intense weather events due to ongoing climate change. In urban areas, falling trees pose a real risk to property, structures, infrastructure, and people. In forested areas, the protection of monumental trees and, more generally, the tree heritage involves the conservation of biomass and biodiversity, the reduction of erosion, and the mitigation of landslide risk. The Trees4ProLands project aims to enhance current techniques (for assessing tree stability, the hydrological balance, and ecosystem services) with cutting-edge engineering and scientific knowledge.

Quality, originality, and innovation of the research proposal, with reference to the research program covered by this selection (up to 20 points) Relevance and significance of previous research activities and professional experience in relation to the research program (up to 25 points) Relevance and significance of submitted publications with respect to the research program (up to 10 points) Interview, aimed at assessing the candidate’s research aptitude, their ability to implement the proposed project, and their knowledge of English and/or other relevant languages for the research (up to 45 points)
