Digital Poliglopolis: mapping migrant Spanish as linguistic and cultural heritage in urban areas
The project stems from well-established expertise in the Spanish-speaking linguistic landscape and requires a dedicated research contract to ensure scientific continuity, methodological rigour andoperational capacity in the development of the Poliglopolis platform as a permanent digitalobservatory. The complexity of the work – expanding the survey areas, validating data, conducting comparative analysis, engaging with local communities and disseminating the results – makes itnecessary to have a dedicated person responsible for coordinating and driving forward the various project phases. The aim is to extend the survey beyond the areas already covered, including new urban zones, metropolitan areas and, for comparative purposes, other Italian cities. The presence of Spanish in public spaces will be interpreted not merely as a linguistic fact, but as an indicator of mobility, settlement, belonging, migrant memory and social transformation.
