Assessing and modeling ecosystem carbon and water fluxes in apple orchards

The research project focuses on carbon, water, and energy fluxes between the soil–plant system andthe atmosphere in apple orchards. Activities will include collecting meteorological and flux data using an eddy covariance station, assessing data quality for processing, generating indicators such as NEP, GPP, NECB, and ET, and developing predictive models in the context of climate change. The contractor will also be expected to perform routine and extraordinary maintenance of the eddy covariance system, ensure remote data transmission, and relocate the system to other sites for short measurement campaigns. In addition, the successful candidate will collaborate with the UNIBZ Tree Ecophysiology and Ecosystems research group and with the PhD student of the 42nd cycle working on the Assomela co-funded project, lead the preparation of scientific publications, and present research results at scientific conferences..
