The research aims to develop an innovative andsustainable system for wastewater treatment usingmicroalgal cultures of the genus Scenedesmus spp.,integrated with advanced monitoring technologies andpredictive models based on artificial intelligence.Following an interdisciplinary One Health approach, theproject seeks to optimize wastewater treatmentprocesses and microalgal biomass production, whileassessing its valorization through the extraction andstabilization of bioactive compounds with potentialapplications in nutraceuticals and preventive medicine.Activities will include experiments on real matrices, nondestructivemonitoring systems, and the development ofpredictive models, with particular attention to the safety,quality, and sustainability of the processes and productsobtained.
