COMPETITION FOR N.1 RESEARCH CONTRACT, GROUP 01/MATH-03 MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS, PROBABILITY AND MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS AT BIDSA RESEARCH CENTER AT UNIVERSITÀ COMMERCIALE “LUIGI BOCCONI” DI MILANO

The research is part of the ERC MIND project (GA 101219635) and aims to advance the mathematical theory of turbulence in incompressible fluids. It focuses on partial differential equation (PDE) models, particularly the Euler and Navier–Stokes equations, in the low-regularity regimes typical of turbulent flows. The goal is to provide a rigorous, quantitative description of phenomena observed in experiments and simulations and predicted by phenomenological theories, such as Kolmogorov’s K41 theory and Onsager’s ideal turbulence. The successful candidate will conduct research in close coordination with the PI and the team, publish papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and present findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars. They will also participate in the Department’s scientific activities, help organise seminars, workshops, and research visits, and, where appropriate, coordinate with project partners and collaborators.
