GIS models for economic analysis and market valorization of forest ecosystem services - published on the “Albo Ufficiale” with n. 9036/2026
The research activity will involve the analysis and objective quantification of the value (both biophysically and economically) of forest ecosystem services provided in regional study areas. Based on the results of an initial phase supporting the literature review on the topic and the definition of local needs, the research activity will also involve the structuring of possible forms of Payments for Forest Ecosystem Services (PSEF) for the development of local supply chains and markets, as well as the definition of the benefits and costs generated by the protection, safeguarding, and restoration of the project areas. The activity will involve, among other tools, the application of methodologies related to land appraisal and forest and environmental economics, with particular emphasis on GIS (Geographic Information Systems) modelling and the development of decision-support systems for land resource management.
