HyperSCAPES: Infrastructure and urban transformations in Lanzhou New Area, China - Ref. 85/26/IR

The research project "HyperSCAPES: Extreme Infrastructure Projects and Emerging Forms of Urbanity in the Anthropocene" examines the urban transformations associated with large-scale infrastructure projects. Through a multi-scalar approach, the study investigates the spatial impacts, social dynamics, and environmental issues arising from the implementation of these projects, with the aim of advancing understanding of their implications for urban planning and design. As part of this research, fellows will be expected to produce cartographic analyses and conduct a preliminary assessment of major infrastructure projects and the urban policies associated with them.
