Body, Nature, and Subjectivity in Contemporary Chinese Women's Poetry (1987–2025): Theoretical Perspectives and Interdisciplinary Approaches

Since the late 1980s, nüxing shige (“women's poetry”) has emerged as one of the most innovative strands of contemporary Chinese literature, challenging poetic conventions and literary paradigms traditionally shaped by male perspectives. More recently, Zhang Li has identified the rise of a “new women's writing” characterized by a renewed relationship between body, subjectivity, and nature.
