User-Centred and Multi-Scale Methods for Multi-Risk Resilience in Urban Built Environments.
The research focuses on multi-risk conditions in urban built environments, including hazards with different onset times. It aims to develop and validate multi-scale methods for analysing and enhancing multi-risk resilience of the urban built environment, with particular reference to climate change-related hazards (e.g. floods, heatwaves), considered in asynchronous risk scenarios. The human factor will be integrated into risk assessment and mitigation. Methods/approaches from literature may be refined through real-world case studies/typological configurations, also under different operational scenarios. The research may employ GIS-based applications, predictive models (including human behaviour models), artificial intelligence techniques, multi-criteria decision-making approaches, and validation procedures based on expert judgement. They may be then used to assess structural and non-structural solutions for multi-risk mitigation, tailored to the application contexts identified.
