Functional Characterisation of Non-Coding RNAs and Drug Response Mechanisms in Aggressive Cancer Models

The research activity will focus on the investigation of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying drug response in aggressive cancer models, with particular emphasis on the role of non-coding RNAs in treatment adaptation and resistance.The programme will involve the management and characterisation of human cancer cell models, functional assays addressing cell viability, proliferation, migration and invasion, and the analysis of cellular processes such as apoptosis and cell-cycle alterations. Gene and protein expression will be investigated using molecular biology and biochemical approaches.

Selection process

In addition to their curriculum vitae, candidates may attach a brief letter outlining their background and motivations, intended to demonstrate the alignment of their scientific and professional trajectory with the activities envisaged by the research program. Master’s degree or single-cycle degree required: Master’s degree in classes LM-6 (Biology), LM-9 (Medical, Veterinary, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology), LM-13 (Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy), LM-54 (Chemical Sciences), or LM-21 (Biomedical Engineering), or equivalent qualifications obtained under the previous university system or abroad. Candidates holding a degree in Medicine or a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Medicine, or an equivalent qualification are also eligible.
