The research will focus on developing operational protocols for the safety assessment of prestressed reinforced concrete bridges, in compliance with the Italian Guidelines (Ministerial Decree of 1 July 2022). Methodologies will be defined for knowledge plans and detailed safety assessments by integrating historical data, inspections, experimental investigations, and numerical analyses. Static and dynamic monitoring protocols for damage detection and localization will also be developed and validated using data from real bridges. Particular attention will be given to AI-based techniques for automated damage detection, comparing their performance, reliability, and robustness with established Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) approaches.
