Influence of neuroautonomic modulation on ventricular arrhythmic burden in endurance athletes: a comparison between structurally normal hearts and non-ischemic left ventricular myocardial scar

The project will compare approximately 50 athletes with ventricular arrhythmias and non-ischaemic left ventricular myocardial scar, already followed at the Sports Cardiology Clinic of Padua University Hospital, with a prospective cohort of athletes with frequent ventricular arrhythmias but structurally normal hearts. Groups will be matched for age, sex, and sport type. Arrhythmic burden and cardiac autonomic modulation will be assessed through one-week prolonged ECG monitoring, including rest, sleep, and at least three training sessions, with analysis of heart rate variability and fragmentation. Advanced autonomic analysis will be performed in collaboration with the University of Milan.
